About the event

Joy of life, activity, creativity, and a change of perspective in your best years are fundamental to your professional performance, even in the later stages of your career. The neuroscientifically based Feldenkrais® Method, named after Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, physicist and athlete, offers gentle, engaging, and highly effective movement lessons on the physical, mental, and emotional levels for individual reorganization and self-regulation. The lessons are taught indoors and, weather permitting, outdoors. Workplace-specific solutions for relieving strain on the musculoskeletal system and eyes, modifying muscle tension and breathing, as well as exercises for fascia training, are developed in a group setting.

A wide range of movement and perception techniques from sports science, Qi Gong and other movement and conversation methods are used and can be practiced independently by the participants on site.

Please check the Lohmar Institute for Continuing Education website to see if this is recognized as educational leave in your federal state.

Please bring: Warm, comfortable clothing, warm socks, and a blanket.

Feldenkrais® - being flexible - for a (professional) life
Learn the Feldenkrais Method in the fresh sea air of the North Sea island of Sylt. Joy of life, activity, creativity, and a shift in perspective in your "best ager" years are fundamental to your performance in your career, even in the later stages. The neuroscientifically based Feldenkrais® Method, named after Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais – physicist and athlete – offers gentle, engaging, and highly effective movement lessons on the physical, mental, and emotional levels for individual reorganization and self-regulation. Workplace-appropriate solutions for relieving strain on the musculoskeletal system and eyes, modifying muscle tension and breathing, as well as exercises for fascia training, are developed in the group setting. A variety of movement and perception techniques from sports science, Qi Gong, and other movement and communication methods are incorporated. The seminar content is developed using resource-, solution-, and movement-oriented methods from the Feldenkrais® Method, psychology, and sports science. We will work for approximately four hours a day with movement lessons from the Feldenkrais® Method, Qi Gong, or breathing, relaxation, and creative techniques. Each session will include instruction, guidance, and reflection on the seminar content, enabling participants to share this knowledge. This provides participants with practical applications for their respective professional contexts, as well as guidance on teaching methods and techniques, and space for reflection. In this way, participants will be trained to transfer the knowledge gained into concrete work situations. Seminar Objectives: To convey, guide, and reflect on the seminar content for further dissemination (especially recommended for employees in health-promoting, educational, therapeutic, social, medical, and counseling professions, and for employees in management positions to pass on to their staff). To ensure the transfer of knowledge into concrete work situations. Specifically: Expansion of professional movement and action competence, training in flexibility and composure, increasing resilience, stress reduction, improvement of physio-mental learning and concentration skills, utilizing movement economy and releasing tension, active prevention through improved self-organization and self-awareness, prevention of back and eye problems with lessons from the Feldenkrais Method and other body-oriented techniques, guidance in self-care.
