ARTEM Feldenkrais workshpos 2011

14. & 15. May 2011, Cologne

Feldenkrais Methode: Who´s standing there?

The Feldenkrais Method - general principles.
Public workshop with Jerry Karzen/USA

Over the many millennia of eons our ancestors evolved to a degree where we have inherited the ability to balance on small feet, have a head which can easily turn and balance on very small vertebrae allowing our eyes, ears, and nose to sense things from afar, and breathe easily within a strong rib cage. The interrelationship of this upward and downward distribution of weight, and how these parts of ourselves have modified our ability to survive and procreate within an ever evolving societal and varied environmental milieu will be the main topic of exploration during this 1 day public workshop of Awareness Through Movement® lessons. As a result of attending you will notice improvement in walking, your sporting activities (e.g. golf, yoga) and every day movements. Jerry was Moshe Feldenkrais' personal travelling companion, secretary and close friend. He assisted in the editing of Dr. Feldenkrais' last two books and directed, or himself videotaped, 95% of all existing tapes of Dr. Feldenkrais' private Functional Integration® lessons. At the request of Dr. Feldenkrais, Jerry organized and administered his last training program and was the first Executive Director of the Feldenkrais Foundation. He has also served as President of the North American Feldenkrais Guild®. Jerry was chosen by Dr. Feldenkrais to be a trainer in 1982. He has been the educational director for over twenty programs since 1982, and is educational director for programs in Germany ARTEM International Feldenkrais Trainings Chiemsee "Jerry Karzen understands the deep connections that Moshe Feldenkrais achieved through touch and brings that level of awareness and sensitivity into his work." -Jane Parsons-Fein, CSWBCD President Emeritus--Director of Training The New York Milton H.
